Optimizing pipe fabrication: Faster, safer, and with better weld quality

At Orskov Yard, continuous improvement is part of our DNA. Whether overhauling thrusters, blasting surfaces, or fabricating pipes, we are always looking for ways to work smarter and safer while ensuring the best results for our customers.

Pipe fabrication is a critical part of many ship repair and conversion projects. To enhance our pipe preparation process, we have invested in two new pipe chamfering machines.

The machines create perfect bevels and chamfers on pipes ranging from 1″ to 8″ in diameter and up to 7 mm in wall thickness. This ensures clean, smooth edges that facilitate easier and more precise welding.

But it’s not only about technical performance. Other wins include:

The machines, both CE-marked equipment, have been supplied by our local partner, P. Conradsen A/S, here in Frederikshavn, who also supported us with a manual and complete spare parts support.
