Safety is a culture, not only a set of rules

At Orskov Yard, safety isn’t just about signs and manuals; it’s a mindset, a shared responsibility, and a visible part of our daily work.

One year ago, we introduced ”Safety Niels”, a character with a clear mission: to make safety visible and ever-present among our more than 230 employees.

The friendly face of Safety Niels appears on roll-up banners and manuals all over the yard. With clear messages and a visible presence, he helps us keep safety front and center, right where the real work happens.

At Orskov Yard, we are making safety an integral part of how we think, act, and support each other in our work. When safety precautions are visible, they become top-of-mind.

Here’s how we make safety visible for everyone:

👷 Green helmets for our safety committee, easy to spot, ready to assist.
👷 Multilingual safety manual for employees and subcontractors.
👷 Roll-ups, manuals, and messages distributed around the yard.
👷 Updated introduction for ships and crews to align on safety from day one.

✅ And it works!

We see it in the way our employees take ownership, suggesting new safety messages, supporting one another and being proactive. Our customers are part of this too, contributing to high standards and a shared commitment to safety.

👤 Coming soon: A new QHSE Manager will join us shortly, bringing even more leadership, expertise, and proactive energy to safeguard our people and the environment at the yard.
